Freetown Gymnasium
- The gymnasium has seriously deteriorated but is in the process (January,
2003) of being remodeled into a community center. A $500,000 community
block grant has been acquired which requires a local match of $50,000.

Pershing Township Fire Station
- The Pershing Township Volunteer Fire Department was established in July
1959 by a farsighted group of businessmen and residents who recognized
the grave danger fire posed for our remote community. |

Carpenter Hill Climb Winner: Bob White

Frank Wheeler and the Frank Wheeler Hotel
- Frank "Brass" Wheeler in front of the old John Thompson home on Main
Street which was sometimes used as overflow for the hotel, which was next
door and he operated from 1905 until his death in 1938. |

Freetown Telephone Company Switchboard Operator
Home - The home where Mrs. Rinda Denny operated a switchboard for
the Freetown Telephone Co. from 1904 until her death in 1947 when Mrs.
Vinnie Spurgeon moved into the house and became the switchboard operator. |
